INNOVATIONS
From polyester alternatives made from algae, to blockchain technology making the supply chain more transparent – take a look at our network of current and alumni innovators, each working on disruptive solutions within the textile industry.
All Innovators

CleanKore
CleanKore’s patented technology modifies the denim dye range to eliminate Potassium Permanganate spray, lower the carbon footprint & improve sustainability throughout the supply chain without increasing cost.

Satma CE
Satma CE is a web based software that uses blockchain optionally to offer traceability across the waste-to-worth supply chain, including collection, segregation, recycling and processing.

Stony Creek Colors
Stony Creek Colors creates a plant-based indigo that can replace petrochemical based synthetic indigo dyes. They optimise indigo production in a (non-GMO) closed loop process which has the potential to be carbon negative. Founded in 2012 (US).

Ever Dye
Ever Dye has developed a novel dyeing process with biobased pigments including a proprietary pretreatment, that allows for dyeing at room temperature on cellulosic yarn and fabric. The process utilises less energy than conventional dyeing and no use of petro-chemicals, and is also faster than traditional methods.

Vaayu
Vaayu is the world’s first automated carbon-tracking software for retailers, enabling businesses to reduce their footprint by providing accessible, real-time data to drive carbon-reduction at scale. By integrating with point-of-sale systems, such as Shopify, and leveraging proprietary AI and machine learning technology, Vaayu draws insights from production, sales and logistics to deliver a tangible solution in the fight against climate change and a more sustainable future for retail.

Fibre52
Fibre52 has developed a patented process for preparing and dyeing cotton and other cellulosic materials, applicable to fibres, yarn, fabric (knit and woven), and garments. This innovative technique shortens the process by over an hour compared to conventional methods and requires lower temperatures for fabric preparation. Additionally, by removing caustic soda and acid, the fibre isn’t degraded, thus retaining its natural strength and softness properties.

Samsara Eco
Samsara Eco is a chemical recycler capable of recycling PET and PA66 waste streams, with the ability to handle elastane, various types of dyes, and both pre and post-concumer waste.

Matereal
Matereal is developing proprietary technology for the production of fully renewable non-isocyanate polyurethanes (NIPUs) for use in foams, coatings, and adhesives with footwear, fabrics and outdoor gear chosen as the initial target markets. Matereal uses oil from microalgae or other non-food sources, which give NIPUS with smaller carbon footprints when compared to materia made with isocyanates.

traceless
Traceless creates bio-based films and coats that are home compostable, do not compete with food production and are qualitatively a real alternative to conventional plastic – 100% biodegradable and compostable.

PoshaQ
PoshaQ is a computer vision AI startup focused on helping consumers discover and purchase products within the fashion and retail sector. They provide retail and warehouse automation, data intelligence and cataloging, as well as quality control with image processing.

Refiberd
Refiberd offers an integrated automated sorting to deal with blended post-consumer textile waste. By utilising a combination of spectroscopy, machine learning and image processing for sorting chemical and mechanical recycling, Refiberd’s technology can reduce material waste to landfill and lower CO2 emissions.

Rubi Laboratories
Rubi turns industrial CO2 emissions into drop-in cellulose pulp for MMC alternatives utilising a cell free, enzyme based direct biochemical process. Through mimicking the process of trees, Rubi’s technology can achieve cradle-to-gate carbon-negativity and produce output for use in existing textile mills.
